Cécile Bertrand about the Syrian peace plan

In partnership with Cartooning for Peace, once a week ARTE is publishing a press cartoon on events unfolding in the Arab world by illustrators involved in the various countries, but also by western cartoonists. This week: The Belgian Cécile Bertrand.

Cécile Bertrand

Cécile Bertrand was born in Liege in 1953; she studied painting in St Luc, before launching out in an artistic career with multiple facets. On painting and sculpturing, she has participated in numerous exhibitions, in 1995 she has joined the Cirque Divers and « Coups de Crayon » BBL in 2000 in Liege; she participated in the exhibition Press Cartoon Belgium and published with Luc Pire editions « Traits d’esprit » in 2003.

Since 1981, she has published children books with different editors. Her drawings are also published in many other national publications since 1990, including Le Vif, l’Express, La Libre Belgique, Imagine Magazine, Axelle, Plus Magazine. In 2004, she had published a book “Les femmes et les enfants d’abord” with Luc Pire editions, and prefaced by famous French cartoonist Plantu.
